The following example illustrates how to effectively purchase from suppliers.
Harry had just been made supervisor of the housekeeping department at the Rampant River Hotel. His first undertaking was to order new sheets for all the rooms in the hotel. The hotel was upgrading to 300-thread count 100% cotton sheets and they needed complete bedding for 25 rooms. The hotel gave him a guideline of $100 to $150 dollars a set. Harry's manager told him that the hotel was willing to consider ordering a larger quantity and issuing a permanent contract if he could get them a good price.
