Blogging Journey
// February 8th, 2009 // Ramblings
This process is a more thoughtful process that is about crafting words and ideas – shaping posts into content that take readers on a journey.
@problogger Darren Rowse at Problogger continues to inspire me to write about what i am passionate about and creating a community at the same time with similar interests.
In my previous post I mentioned that I have enjoyed writing throughout my life. I can remember being in elementry school and getting busted for peeing on the playground with a reprimand of having to write out a full dictionary page by the following morning. Squiggles and symbols included. I enjoyed it because i got to write and learn. The two things that i still am passionate about.
Being still an infant blogger i have been practicing, reading and researching how to be an interesting blog writer. I refuse to be just another boring voice that regurgitates the same things that other people are saying. Yet i want to also apply rule 62 to my writing – don’t take yourself so darn seriously. As a perfectionist, this is probably the main reason I get continual writer’s block.
Some things i am practicing with inspiration from other amazing blogger’s in my posts are:
- - taking my time to write something useful, personal and targeted
- - when i am out and about I write down idea’s for interesting posts in my blackberry
- - getting involved with like minded people on twitter
- - think about a potential audience when writing
- - don’t publish right away, go back revise and add depth
- - try to add value and contribute
